Dr. Shy earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2002, completed her general psychiatry residency at UAMS in 2005, and finished fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry in 2007.

An Arkansas native, Dr. Shy enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, and spending time with her family in her free time.
